A 15,000m² college building on four floors with a central internal street providing a dynamic circulation space and informal study/gather areas.
The entrance has a multifunctional role providing security, information and access to community services. The teaching accommodation is arranged in blocks with the general teaching rooms, computer rooms and laboratories on the south side and the specialised accommodation located on the north side consisting of: a Construction Centre, Motor Vehicles Workshop, Creative Arts Department and Theatre.
Epping Forest College is an exemplar in functional skills alongside vocational and practical experience training to reflect the new specialised diplomas contained in the 14 -19 Education and Skills White Paper.
A Sustainability Report assessed available options for the College including: natural ventilation, solar control, thermal mass, heat sources, ground source heat pumps, solar water heating and photovoltaic's.
